DESCBIPTION OF EXTRA PLATES.

Pl. II.a. Cornice of mastaba of Prince
Mexa ; arranged according to the sense, from
the fallen blocks. See pp. 6, 43. Cairo
Museum.

Two drums from over the false door on the
east face. Also two panels with figures from
the same. See p. 6. At Manchester and
Bristol.

Strip of inscription from the side of the recess
of the great stele, pl. i. See p. 6.

Slab, defaced, reading bilaterally from a
middle line; probably the middle slab of the
inscription over the door. See pp. 6, 43, 44.
Slab (left hand, base), found outside mastaba
of Mena, which might belong to that of Meru
adjoining. See pp. 6, 44. Both at Chicago.

Pl. V.a. Bands of inscription around the
sepulchre of Adu I. The sequence of the lines
is given by the lettered plan in the corner. The
whole of this, along with the other blocks of
the scenes of offerings, and lists of offerings, is
now in the Cairo Museum. See pp. 9, 45, 46.

Pl. VII.a. Slabs and cornice of Senna ;
order not known. See pp. 11, 47. At Chicago.

Various pieces of cornice, and lintels. In
middle, the top one is of Merru, N. of Adu II.
Below is a lintel of Degat (at Manchester),
(pp. 10, 47); and a lintel of Rehuia A. (pp. 18,
47). At the base is a lintel of Kathena

Beba II., or B., is of Xlth Dynasty. See
pp. 20, 47. The fragments near it are copied
at the top of pl. xv.

Siienseta, Hotepa (omit Kednus). The top

half-length figure is not connected with any
other pieces: from the style it may belong to
the late Xlth Dynasty.
