field of heliografika, and with the graphic works of Jean Dubuffet, whose theoretical
considerations in French on the graphic medium and on the notion of tracę, as well
as his commentaries to the series Empreintes and Phenomenes, have been widely con-
sidered in the present paper. The series is in linę with the phenomenon of modernist
transformations of the worlds graphics and constitutes an expression of their recep-
tion in the Polish context in 1956-1963.
The last part of the paper constitutes an attempt to interpret the motif of cathedral.
