FUTURE COLLABORATION
A future opportunity for collaboration between LANBOZ and RF will be through the European Research
Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS). E-RIHS is envisaged as a pan-European distributed research
infrastructure supported by 13 member states, including Poland and Germany, the potential founders of
the E-RIHS consortium. The mission of this consortium is to install a permanent infrastructure for rese-
arch into cultural and natural heritage on a national and international European level. In each participa-
ting country, a national hub should be able to arrange partners that provide state-of-the-art tools and
services for analyses, documentation and data management to advance knowledge of heritage and to
devise innovative strategies for its preservation. The cease of the EU-funded support for future projects
and integrating activities, such as the completed EU-ARTECH, CHARISMA and the current IPERION-CH in
conservation science, and ARIADNE in archaeology, is the impulse behind the creation of E-RIHS. Cur-
90 rently, this research infrastructure is in a preparatory stage and national infrastructures are being built,
in which LANBOZ and RF play important roles.
