scarce press. „End titles such as this book possesses, are uncommon, but occur
occasionally in books of this décade. Both the colophon and end-title end with the
twirl represented by an upright stroke in the quotation of the title.” (Hawkins)
There were very few books printed in Cremona in the XVth cntury. C. Darlerius,
a native of Cremona printed 5 books there. On the printer’s mark of Darlerius
cf. Kristeller 28. — The blank bottom of leaf 1 renewed, a few leaves hâve a very
small round wormhole, otherwise a large, clean and very good copy.

Not quoted by Becker, nor by Fétis. Acc. to Eitner I, p. 186 our copy is the only
one known. This interest. work of a Dutch composer, who became a vocalist in
the Sixtina Choir, contains 46 madrigals by himself, 6 by Giachet Berchem, 2 by
Corteccia, one by Const. Festa and one by Layole. Fine copy, only Ist lf. somewhat
waterstained.

First large initial painted in red and green, with ornamentation,
other initiais in red. Folio. Contemporary binding of stamped
pigskin over wooden boards (flower-tools etc.) two clasps and cat-
ches (binding a little rubbed). ,f 480.—

Stillwell A 1152. First édition and the first book from this press., A very fine
copy with wide margins. A few marginal annotations by a Contemporary owner.

Fischer (alias Piscator) was the first Printer of Freiburg. Proctor has only two
other books attributed to his press. Badly wormholed, the last lf. frayed, other-
wise in good condition.
