extremo. J. Tollius.” On the title-page ownership entry: ,Jacobi Tollii’. Tollius,
born at Utrecht, was a physician, became rector at Gouda and later at Leiden.
He died at Utrecht. He has written many works mainly of medical interest.
See Jöcher Gelehrten-Lexicon, IV, 1239/40. On the back of the flyleaf there is
an old inscription: „Pollux apud Aldum 1502. Cum MSs. Scaligeri et Falkenbur-
gii a Tollio ex cod. Leid, margini adjectis. Accedit Hesychii Lexicon Hagenoae
1521 cum nonnullis ab alio viri docti manu adnotatis.”
A very few leaves insignif. stained in the outer margin, one wormhole through
a littl'e part of the book not affecting the text, otherwise a splendid copy.

Phillips 3328. Sabin 64 151. John Carter Brown II, 34- Gracsse V, 414- I maps
deal with America: Ternistikan, Mondo Nuovo, Spagnuola, Cuba, Jamaica, Map-
pamondo, carta da navigare. The text which belongs to the maps is on the pages
157—177 and 193—200. The leaves are little browned, little waterstained in the
upper corner, otherwise a good copy.

1528. (On title-leaf 1529). Title in red and black with fine woodcut
border, numerous small woodcuts and init. letters. Goth. letter, double

boards. (a little damaged). f 55.—
With old annotations and at the end old ownership entry and music scales. Some
stains, If. 2 shortly eut without loss of text, otherwise good.

Very nice beautifully and coloured maps. Good copy.
