SUMMARY
The pałace in Oleszyce in the light of unknown archival sources
The article discusses unknown archival sources referring to the pałace of Adam
Mikołaj Sieniawski, Grand Hetman of the Crown in Oleszyce (in the former Bełz
Voivodeship, currently the Podkarpackie Voivodeship). Among the documents, the
most important is the agreement dating from 1725, signed between Hetman Sie-
niawski and Jan Szafraniec, a carpenter from Jarosław. This contract concerned the
demolition of the former wooden palace, built by Adam Mikołaj's father, Mikołaj Hi-
eronim Sieniawski, around 1670. The construction of a new palace, modeled on the
previous one, undertaken by Adam Mikołaj, was related to broader works around the
residence, such as setting up a new garden by the gardener Meiser Gottlob, employed
in 1725. Also, noteworthy is the previously unknown inventory of the Oleszyce pal-
ace, dating from the mid-18th century. Thanks to it, it was possible to obtain certain
information about the furnishings of the no longer existing Sieniawski residence.
