34. The Interior of a kitchen. A young woman is putting
down to the fire a leg of mutton, which she has just spitted;
another woman is seated, scraping carrots upon a board on her
knees; and near her, on the ground, are some artichokes and
red cabbages, with other vegetables, and a pail half-full of
water; a man is behind her, sharpening some knives; a cat,
creeping towards a dish of fish, and a great variety of provisions
and other objects, are distributed about the room.
