effect is clear and brilliant. Dated 1665. This is noticed by

near a stool, which serves for a table : one of them is presenting
a jug of beer to another, who is smoking with great composure,
whilst the third is filling his pipe. The subject is brightly
illumined by two large windows in the back of the room.
