out of a pitcher; a woman and a child in front, and two horses

428. Le Marechai ferrant. A party of four Cavaliers halt-
ing at a Farrier’s Shop on the right, one of them has dis-
mounted, and is having one of his horse’s bind feet measured
by the smith for a shoe, whilst another man holds his leg, and
a third stands at its head; the nearest of the other three gen-
tlemen has a trumpet slung behind him ; and in front, towards
the right, are two children, a dog, and three fowls. Engraved
in the Musee Francais.
