424. Time disclosing Truth. In this picture the artist has
intended to represent, that the misunderstanding which had
occurred between the king and queen arose from the vices of
Slander, Envy, and Malice, which Time had disclosed, and the
venerable monarch is seen bearing up Truth in his arms, and
exhibiting her naked to the world; above these are the queen
and her son, holding between them the wreath of Peace, encir-
cling the symbols os Unity and Love.
