23. The Interior os a Kitchen, in which are two girls and two
boys. One of the former is busy frying cakes on a stove, while
one of the latter is behind her, pinching a cat by the ear ; the cries
of the animal appear to excite a poodle dog, which is jumping
upon the boy’s knees; the other boy is an infant, seated in a
chair, much amused by the passing scene. The figures are
unusually large, and are painted with great care and neatness.

24. Amnon and Tamar. The subject represents the cruelty
