17. The same subject. In this picture, the boy is represented
standing on the farther side of a dwarf wall, blowing bubbles in
a shell, while the girl stands in front holding a cap, decked with
feathers, in her hand. A pot of ssowers is on the wall. Engraved
by Mouws.
18. La Tricoteuse. A pretty young woman, dressed in a
blue bodice, a tawny-yellow satin skirt, a white apron, and a
black cap, seated at an arched window, knitting. A table,
covered with a Turkey carpet, stands before her, on which is a
basket, containing balls of worsted. This is an elegant and
highly-studied production. Engraved by Wille, under the
above title.

19. The Sempstress. A young woman, seated, with a cushion
on her lap, occupied at needle-work ; her dress consists of a
drab-colour velvet jacket bordered with ermine, a blue skirt,
and a lace cap. A table, covered with a Persian carpet, on
which are two books, is placed near her, and a basket is by her
side. Painted with great delicacy.
