33. Portrait of a Lady and Gentleman. The former,
attired in a light brown satin robe, of varied hues, bordered
with black velvet, and a pale blue satin skirt, is seated with
an orange in one hand, and a kerchief in the other. The
gentleman has on a velvet cap and a purple silk mantle, and
is represented standing on the farther side of the lady, lean-
ing on a balustrade. A spaniel is frisking at their feet. A
building, a curtain, and a portion of a garden, compose the
background.
