Pieces of Megarian Bowls from the Polish Excavations at Tanais, Part II
ABSTRACT
Since 1996 the Institute of Archeology of Warsaw University and the Center for
Archaeological Research - Novae have carried out archaeological excavations at the
site of ancient town Tanais. Excavations have been conducted within Archaeological
Mission of Lower Don supervised by T. Arseneva. In the course of archaeological
works in years 2003-2005 there were twelve fragments of Megarian bowls found. The
scope of this article is to present a preliminary typological and chronological
classification of these findings.
