BELFAST.—The annual exhibition of work
by students of the Belfast School of
Art presented an attractive appearance
in the large Central Hall of the Tech-
nical Institute, where it was recently held. Great
as had been the progress shown in previous exhibi-
tions, there was a decided improvement this year,
although some of the work is still in an experi-
mental stage. Considerable public interest is being
shown in these annual displays, which no doubt
have an influence in directing attention to art
education and in attracting possible students and
future artists. The school has now settled down
in its new premises, and a few words as to its
history and work may not be out of place. Previous
