concerned. The cost of erecting the building was
defrayed by the Landes-Ausschuss of Upper
Austria. It has now been taken over by the Ministry
for Public Works, who pay all expenses for the up-
keep of the school.

It is proposed to open a school of sculpture
here in the near future. For that reason studios
have already been prepared under the terrace and
to the right of the building. All the rooms have
been suitably decorated, the stained glass and lead
work having been executed by Geylings Erben.
Herr Rodler may be congratulated on the manner
in which he has fulfilled this his first commission,
for he has shown himself an architect of refined
taste and practical knowledge. A. S. L.

BERLIN.—The Berlin branch of the
Vereinigte Werkstatten fiir Kunst im
Handwerk, whose head office is in
Munich, has removed to an enlarged
building. The various suites of apartments at
their beautiful new home exhibit an interesting
diversity of interior arrangements by leading artist-
craftsmen, and in addition to furniture are filled
with a large number of small objects of different

broideries, and textile fabrics. A study of all

iron, and many examples of
both may be seen in the new
schools ; as, for instance, in

leading to the workshops,
