Sarasvati, Narroada, Sindhu, Kaveri, come to this
water. On reciting this formula (mantra), invoke
tirtha (sacred water) from the Aditya-nandala (region
of the Sun) by exhibiting ankusa-raudra (bent Index-
finger like the Inkusa.) and put perfume and flowers
(gandha and puspa) while uttering Pranaba (Om),
sound thrice by clapping the two palms (Tala-traya)
with the utterance of words "astraya ohat".
Then perform -
Dig-bandhana (tying of the directions ►
10 directions including the uoner and lower directions),
covering (bagunthana), Dhenu-mudra (cow-posture »
formation of fingers and arm's, amrti-karana (a
mudra or oose to convert the materials inside the
pot into nectar) and cover the pot (aoidhana) with
raatsya-mudra (oose of fish), tad recite oranaba
(Om) ten times.
This is the rule (vidhi) of "samanya"
arghya" (minor offer).
Sprinkle the door (dvara) and the house
of worship (puja-agara) with that water of offering
(arghya - jala), and holding perfume and flower in
