Salutation to Bastospatl (Lord of the
homestead olot) in the South.west (Ivairta)
direction, it the middle (madhye), salutation
to Brahma. \t the Seat (of the worshinoer) -jnd at
the seat of the Soul (of the worshiooer), Salutation
to Lotus-Seat (Karaala-sana).

Of this \sana-mantra (formula of seat),
the sage (Rsi) is one who is on the 'feru
(Mountain -Sum^ru i.e. siva), the Chanda (rhythen)
is "Sutala" (one of the seven nether-worlds).the
divinity (devata) is "-forma (tortoise), 4ninta
(snake of this name) is the seed (bija), earth
(orthibi) is the energy (sakti), un.expressed one
(abyakta) is the wedge (kilaka). These subjects are
attributed to the asana-mantra (formula of the seat
of the worshipper).

Om, Oh "arth (Prthibi), you hol<* the
created bein~s CloVah), Oh Goddess (Devi), Visnu
sustains you. Tou also hold me. "">urify my seat
(asana). By this mantra (formula) worshio the ^arth
with gandha (oerfums), ousoa (flowers) and \ksata
(utabroken rice fr^m the Sun~cSried pa-^y).
