324. Stele. Built into the wall of a courtyard immediately west of the house
and courtyard in which nos. 313—323 were found. The slab faces south. Height
cm.; width 33 cm. The face is well finished. The rows of letters are separated
by incised lines. Height of letters cm.

Οίαιναδος Σαυρου ετ(ών) μ.'.
Οδαιναθος Α[ρι]ρο[υ] ετ(ων) ς-λζ, Graham.
ΟίαίναΘος, Arabic Udhainat, is a very common name. Σαυρος is probably the
equivalent of the Arabic Shakur, written Σαουρος in Wad. 2546 and A.A.E.S. Ill
360 = R.B. vxi (1898), p. 101. Connection with the rare Greek name Σαΰρος or Σαύρας
does not seem plausible.

Αουεό'ος Ασεου.
i. e. Awldh, {son} of Asz.
The former name is generally spelled ΑουειοΥς or Αουιοος. The form Ασεος we have
not found elsewhere in Greek inscriptions.

327. Stele. Built into the outer wall of a house situated south of the so-called
“Praetorium” and northwest of the “Barracks”. The stone faces north. Height 89cm.;
width at top 30 cm. The inscribed portion of the face is well finished. Height of letters
57a-672 cm.
