base has been broken off. Height 76 cm.; width 38 cm. The face is half finished.

Ανδω Γομεμου ετ(ών) ί(ε)ζ.
i. e. For Aud, (sori) of Gumaim.
The form Ανδος does not seem to occur elsewhere, but Ανδης is found on a stele
from Derca (M.N.D.P .-V. 1899, p. 60, no. 28) and the feminine Ανδη is very common.
We know of no other certain example of Γομεμος, but it seems not improbable that the
name is to be restored on a fragment of a stele from Kharaba, M.S.M. p. 291, no. 159,
where MM. Dussaud and Macler read r Ο A////GMO C (interpreted as Ghulaiyim by Lidz-
barski, Eph. 11, p. 333).
446. Stele. Found in the wall of the portico of the “Southeast Church” (see
no. 444). Height 60 cm.; width 33 cm. Height of letters 7-81/3cm.
Νίνα Μαςίρ.ου ετ(ών) )/.
Niva is evidently the feminine form of the Latin Ninus, (Greek Ntvo;), which
occurs in C.I.L. 11 4970s46, iv 2336, and νιι 133413.

447. Stele. Found in a large house in the eastern part of the city. The stone
has been used to block up a doorway, and faces west. Height 94 cm.; width 35 cm.
The face is well finished. The rows of letters are separated by incised lines. Height
of letters
Ασαδος Ιυου έτ(ώυ) ν'.

On the name Ασαδος see no. 85.
