The restorations at the beginning of the lines are taken from Wetzstein, in whose
time the left end of the stone was visible. The word ίντυχΐτΞ is at the extreme left
of the plate, probably on a dovetail.
The πιστοί seem to have been the commissioners who formed the chief executive
board of the community, while the προνο^ταί constituted a special committee for the
construction of the building; see W. K. Prentice, Trans. Am. Philol. Assn, xliii
(1912), p. 116 f. On the name Κασίος see no. 435.
612. Block. Built into the east wall of the mosque. The stone faces on the
courtyard which is east of the mosque. Length 69 cm ; height 39 cm. Height of
letters 6-7 cm.

i. e. Eirene, (daughter) of Soros.
The name Σωρός is found on a stone in Egypt, C. I. G. Add. 4716 d:‘ = I. G. R.

a well-known inscription of Odainathos the Elder, Prince of Palmyra, C. I. G. 4507 -
