door in the south side of the great church. It is broken at both ends, but com¬

In the first line of the fragment Dr. Lucas read, from the copy and photograph
his disposal, Λ H CI 0, from which he restored ? π^σίου: I believe, however, that my
copy is correct. Of the verses quoted certain portions have been omitted, as may be
seen by comparing the originals. Furthermore, in my restoration, I have departed from
the text of the Septuagint adopted by Swete in three instances: in lines 3 and 4 I
have followed the Codex Alexandrinus in omitting the τό before κόκκινου and in retaining
the τ·<ς before ροας, on account of the number of letters involved: in line 5 I have
followed the Codex Sinaiticus in reading ολτ, εί ν,αλη, instead of όλτ? καλό εε. In the
first line of the extant part of the text ot, before οφθαλμοί, seemed to me certain ; but
no MS. authority is quoted by Swete for this. In line 4 the form Δαά is evidently
_ for ΔαυεΤ or Δαυείό1: there, is MS. authority for the shorter
π (nvmWIW J form elsewhere> if not in this particular passage. Lastly I
~'-g believe that there was a disk at the bottom of the central
lintel, which broke into the fifth and sixth
