The Tappd was known in Sanskrit as the Jhamari and
has been reduced to its modern form by Golam Nobi, the
husband of the famous songstress Shori, with whose name
most of these songs are connected. The style is light and
pleasing to the generality who cannot appreciate the higher
forms of music.
