A SELLER OF LANTERNS.

In houses provided with latticed windows only, candles are usually sheltered by lanterns like those suspended above. One such lantern, with two
or three wax candles in it, placed on the ground or on a low stool in a central position, is considered sufficient to light a large saloon.
