Foreword

fifth paper is titled The motif of transformation in Julio Cort azar’s short sto-
ry Axolotl. The analysed story is a part of Julio Cortazar’s book “End of the
Game” {Final del juego). The author, Anna Wendorff, shows duality of human
nature, a difference between what is “human” and what suddenly transforms
and becomes an animal.
The last two articles are reflective notes on the fringe of two books. The
first text by Pawel Drabarczyk vel Grabarczyk, titled We are all Metis, is de-
voted to the publication Planéte Métisse (The Metis Planet) which accompa-
nied the exhibition showing the art of non-European cultures at the Musée du
quai Branly in Paris (March 2008 - July 2009). The other one, by Piotr M.
Sękowski, is titled Reflections on Daniela Bleichmar s Visual Voyages. The au-
thor discusses the multi-faceted publication entitled Visual Voyages. Images
of Latin American Nature from Columbus to Darwin, which was issued on the
occasion of an exhibition under the same title organised by The Huntington
Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens from 16 September 2017 to
8 January 2018.
