I (hall conclude this Chapter with
the Descriptions which the Latin Po-
ets have given us of the Appennines. We
may observe in them all the remarka-
ble Qualities of this prodigious length
of Mountains, that run from one Ex-
tremity of Italy to the other, and give
Rise to an incredible Variety of Rivers
that water this delightful Country.
