XVIe SIÈCLE. — sculpture française. PANNEAU DE BOIS SCULPTÉ.

Dans ce nouvel épisode de Henri III en Pologne, nous voyons
le jeune prince recevoir la couronne de l'un des grands-élec-
teurs. Il est à genoux, et son manteau est porté par deux gentils-
hommes français. Le personnage qui tient on main la couronne
est assis sur un siège dont la forme est très-remarquable.
L'encadrement est, à peu de chose près, semblable au sujet
précédemment publié et aux autres panneaux de cette curieuse
collection que, pour ce motif, nous éviterons de publier.

lu this new scène of Henry III., as king of Poland, we see the
young prince receiving the crown from the hand of one of the
great-electors. He is kneeling and the lower part of lus mantle
is borne by two Frcnch noblemen. The personage holding the
crown is placed on a seat whose shape is very remarkable.
The frame is pretty much the same as the one of the subject
published not long ago, and resembles the other panels of that
curious collection which, for this reason, we avoid reproducing.
