Cette belle composition, peinte par un de nos plus habiles artistes contemporains, a figuré à l'Exposition de 1870. Tout le monde se souvient
de l'heureux effet qu'elle produisit au milieu du salon d'honneur, et il serait tout à fait superflu d'en faire l'éloge. — L'œuvre de M. Mazerolle,
déposée à la manufacture nationale des Gobelins, est destinée à être reproduite en tapisserie. — Mais quand verrons-nous cette reproduction,
qui, d'après l'estimation de M. Alfred Darcel, demandera au moins cinq années d'un travail assidu ?

Tins fine painted composition due to one of our most clever contemporary artists figured at the exhibition 1876. We need not recal the
sensation it produced in the " Grand Salon ,, nor bave we to praise it. The painting of Mr Mazerolle is now at the national manufacture of
the Gobelins to serve as a model for a tapostry — that is to say it is shut up for a long time: — according to W A. Darcel, the director of
this public manufacture it will require at least flve years of continuous and interrupted work to exécute it.
