XVIIe SIÈCLE. — travail français. MEUBLES. — CRÉDENCE EN HOJS SCULPTÉ,

• Les moulures, en très-grand nombre, qui décorent ce meuble
8 deux corps, du commencement du xvii' siècle, sont fines
et d'un excellent profil. La partie inférieure du meuble est
ajourée et flanquée aux angles de deux vigoureux balustres
carrés, supportant la partie centrale dont deux balustres, pure-
ment décoratifs, cette fois, ont trouvé place aux angles. La
Partie supérieure se termine par un fronton interrompu et dé-
co»pé. On remarquera, à ce fronton, les trois supports privés
a cette heure des statues qui les ornaient jadis. Les deux portes

Tbis pièce of furniture which dates from tho beginnfng
of the xvn* century, is decorated wîth numerous moul-
dings whose designs and sections are very délicate. The
lower part is cantoned with two strong balnsters suppor-
ting the central body which is decorated at its face angles
with two purely décorative balusters. The upper part is
crowned by a pediment, over whih yet are to lie notieed the
three small bases now devoid of the statuettes which formerly
decorated them. The doors of the upper body arc oma-
mented with iulaid work.
