'îst de beaucoup préférable, tant pour l'originalité et l'élégance des
formes que pour sa belle exécution. Nous en montrons fig. 4272
'e profil nécessaire à la parfaite compréhension de l'objet, et la
%• 427:1 montre un animal lancé au galop au milieu des orne-
ments découpés qui semble comme le premier un souvenir de
''art hispano-arabe de Cordoue et de PAlhambra. — A ce titre
seul ces deux objets deviennent précieux et méritaient d'être

The forged iron knocker shown fig. 4275 is far superior to
its pendant as regards originality and élégance of form and fine
workma-nsbip. fig. 4272 présents the profile of the article so
as to make it clearly seen and Fig. 4273 shows the openworked
sheet-iron backplate, L'pon tins plate is seen an animal running
at full speed admist the scrollwork — which seem as if it were
a réminiscence of the hispano-arab art of Cordova and Gra-
nada : were it but for that reason thèse two articles are pre-
cious and deserve being reproduecd.
