XVe SIÈCLE. — école italienne. MINIATURE. — HEURES DE FERDINAND Icry

Cette charmante miniature de la fin du xvc siècle est surtout
remarquable par la composition ingénieuse de la bordure. —
L'artiste qui a composé et exécuté ce travail semble avoir pris la
nature sur le fait et dans tout son réalisme — et il a disposé,
autour d'une tige recourbée, des produits potagers, devenus un
charmant décor. — Si ce feuillet ne datait de 1480 environ, nous
le croirions sorti des mains de M. Kubrich-Ropert qui, dans sa
Flore ornementale, nous montre des compositions analogues et
conçues dans un même esprit.

This charming miniature belonging to the end of the fifteenth
contury, is especially remarkable for the ingenious composition
of its edging. The artist who as composed and executed this
work seems to have copied nature in ail its rcalism and he
lias disposed the products of the kitchengarden round a bent
branch, that they have becomeacharming décoration. If the page
was Eot datcd 1480, we would have thought it a production
of Mr. Buprich-Rohert, who in Iris ornamental fiora shows u*
compositions conceivcd in the same spirit.
