instruments du culte. grandeur de l'original.

Le corps de ce bénitier, donné par Henri III à l'autel do l'ordre
du Saint-Esprit, est taillé dans une agate d'Allemagne. Les
montures et l'anse sont en argent doré. L'aspersoir, de forme
hexagone et orné sur toutes ses faces d'élégantes arabesques, est
terminé par un manche d'agate. On peut dire que cet objet
est une chose historique précieuse, mais que ce n'est pas un
chef-d'œuvre. La forme générale est assez inélégante et l'anse
prend trop d'importance. — Nous montrons flg. 4354 le dévelop-
pement orné, du boudin que l'on voit à la base de l'objet.

The body of Uns stoup, given hy Henry the III'1 to the altar
of the order of the Holy Ghost, is eut in a German agate. The
mountings and the handle are in gi t silver. AU the faces of the
hexagonal aspergill are decorated with élégant arabesques; the
handle is in agate. This article, though precious as regards
ils historical value, is far from being a chef-d'œuvre, and
its handle plays far too important a part. Fig. 4354 présents
