Le corps du vase, son pied et les deux- mascarons dont il est
décoré- sont taillés dans la masse. La partie supérieure de l'ai-
guière a été laissée sans gravures. — Des cabochons relient
cette partie au corps du vase, dont les gravures représentent
l'histoire de Noé. — L'anse est vraiment magnifique et permet
de porter ou de suspendre ce bel objet d'art.

The body of the vase, its foot and the two masks which or-
nament the article, are sculpturcd in the block of rock-cristal.
The upper part of the ewer, the neck proper is not engraved.
A bead of uncut gems connect it to the body of the vase whosc
sculptures represent the history of Noah. The handle which
serves to carry or to hang the vase, is truly magnificent.
