La disposition de cet objet n'est pas commune, et les trois
petits satyres accroupis sur des consoles terminées en feuillages
et faisant office de cariatides, est du meilleur goût. Une guir-
lande de perles, sorte de chapelet, meuble le vide qui se pro-
duit entre les figures. L'orifice du flambeau affecte la forme
d'un vase d'une silhouette élégante. La fig. 4419 montre le
plan ou section horizontale de l'objet.

-The gênerai arrangement of this candlestick, which is seldom
to bemetwith, and the three small satyrs sitting upon consols
and fulfilling the office of caryatids, are full of taste. A. bead-
liko garland of poarls fills the voids intervening between the
figures. — The réceptacle proper of the candie is shaped like
a vase of an élégant outline. Fig. 4419 shows the horizontal
section of the article.
