L'original de cette gravure fait partie de la collection do
M. Cavalen, de Milan. On y retrouve certains souvenirs de
Michel-Ange, au milieu d'une ornementation un peu étrange
et compliquée.
On remarquera que les bandes, disposées de chaque côté du
motif principal, sont dissemblables. Les figures sont aussi par-
fois bizarres et tourmentées, maison reconnaît, malgré cela,
que cette composition n'est pas dénuée de mérite, et qu'elle est
l'œuvre d'un maître du temps.

The original of the above engraving belongs to the collection
of Mr Michel Cavalen of Milan. la the midst of a rather strange
and complicated ornaaientation, ono mects certain reminis-
censes of Michael-A.ngclo. It is to be remarked that the bands
placed on each side of the central motive, are dissimilar. More-
over the figures are betimes fantastiosl and w riting, one
must acknowledge notwithstanding, that the composition is not
devoid of merit and is certainly the work of an artist of the
xvilh century.
