by us, but other systems are explored, and
other suns examined, Perspeftive has its uses
too in the business, such at lead was the opinion
of him (Huygens) who wishing to calculate
the dimensions os a remote star, could only
attain his objedfc by reverfing his telescope, and
thereby reducing the sun to similar dimensions,
as if placed at a similar distance : very justly,
therefore may it be said, that this science is not
confined to this terrestial ball; its principles
extend into ether itself, and its laws regulate
the splendors of the celestial luminaries.

Gentlemen, we are attending to perspebtive as
to the principles os one of our faculties ; and
indeed it seems to me so intimately connedted
with our natural faculties, and capacities, (thole
highly proper objects of our study) that I am
lorry, when I meet with any person, who though
posiesiing the gift of sight, is ignorant of the
principles of a science so very important and
invaluable.
