merits notice. It is supposed, the tripod won by Lysi~
crates, in his vidtory at the public games, slood on
the top of the ornament on the roof.
No. II. Is a sebtion of the same building.
No. III. Is an elevation of a circular temple slill
existing at Tivoli; commonly called the Sibyls tem-
ple ; but rather belonging to Vesta.
No. IV. Is a circular temple termed Monopteral,
i. e. having but one row of pillars, which support the
roof, and being open, without any wall to form the
body of the temple.

No. I. Is a circular temple of the Peripteral
kind, i. e. having one row os pillars, in advance from
the body of the temple, all round.
No. II. Is its plan: wherein the walk between the
body of the temple and the colonnade, is very evident.
No. III. Is the circular temple at Baalbec : wherein
we observe that the columns are advanced from the
body of the temple, as in the peripteral; but afford no
space for a walk between, because they are connected to
the temple by the circular sweeps of their pedestals,
entablatures, &c.
