The foot on which the hust rests is antique, and is orna-
mented with an anthemion in relief. The nose is broken
and the surface injured in places.

Strangford. Purchased in 1864.

(154.) Head of Alexander the Great (?).—The sur-
face much worn.

Ht. 1 ft. 4t\ in. Purchased of Mr. A. Castellani, 1873.

(155.) Bust of Antoninus Pius.—The Emperor wears
the military cloak (jpcdudamentwrn), fastened by a circular
fibula on the right shoulder. Nose restored.

Ht. 2 ft. 3 in. Formerly in the Grimani Collection at Venice. Pur-
chased of Mr. R. C. Lucas, 1850.

(156.) Bearded Head, perhaps of Homer. Nose
broken away, and surface generally in bad condition.

Ht, 1 ft. 1 in.

(157.) Head of Vespasian. Nose broken.

Ht. 1 ft. 4| in. Discovered at Carthage, by Sir T. Reade, in 1835-6.

(158.) Head of Jupiter Amnion, bearded, with a
ram's horn on each side of the head. The nose and
brow are broken away, and the surface generally in bad
condition.

(159.) Head of Jupiter, or perhaps of Pluto (Hades).
The nose broken away ; the surface of the marble generally
in bad condition.

(160.) Female Head, much mutilated about nose and
