The date of this tessera has been assigned by conjecture
to a.u.c. 701 (b.c. 53). Length, If in. The day of the
month is January 9. Mommsen, No. 775 ; Ritschl, No. 23,
pi. 1, k. H.

The date of the consulship of Julius CaBsar and iEmilius
Lepidus here given is a.u.c. 708 (b.c 46). The day of
the month is November 13. Length, in. Mommsen,
No. 737; Ritschl, No. 27, pi. 1, L. Hiibner (Monats-
bericht, 1867, p. 761) thinks this a modern copy from an
ancient original. Ritschl (Rhein. Mus. xxi. p. 293) says
it is copied from a tessera belonging to M. Charret, in
France. H.

The date of the consulship of L. Lentulus and Corvinus
Messala here given is a.u.c. 751 (b.c 3). The day of
the month is June 1. Length, l j-i in. Mommsen, No.
748; Ritschl, No. 41, pi. 2, s, gives it as doubtful, and
in the Rhein. Mus. xxi. p. 294, says it is a copy from
a true tessera. H.
