Greci di Blacas, pi. 15. Nearly intact. Surface
in good condition. Careless drawing, but fine
lines. Purple used for the wreath. Eye in profile
type.
Interior: Within a thin red circle
a youth wreathed, wearing himation, and
resting r. on crooked staff, stands to r.
looking upwards. Behind him, a stele or
goal (?) on a plinth, part seen.

KYLIX, with low foot. Ht. 1J in. Diam.
5~ in. Cameiros, 1864. Tomb no. F 50. About
one quarter of lip broken away; surface much
injured by corrosion. Graceful style. Inner
markings of body and wings in a colour which is
now a bright yellow. The surface has been
ruddled. Eye in profile.
Interior: Within a circle composed
of two red lines very close together,
Eros moving to r. in a slightly bent
attitude, putting forward his r. hand with
fingers bent as if holding something. On
his 1. hand is seated a hare, and a mantle
hanejs from his 1. forearm. He wears a

fillet, to which is attached a dotted rosette over the forehead, both coloured
purple.

The surface has suffered slightly. Brown inner markings. Eye of the developed profile type.
The exterior is decorated with a diamond check pattern, the chequers alternately black and
dotted red, arranged obliquely : under each handle is a black palmette between two vertical
bands of zigzags.
Interior : Within two concentric red circles Two Athletes ; the one on r. is
en face, but turns bis head towards his companion, who holds up in his 1. an
aryballos, having in his r. a strigil: the other has also an aryballos hanging from
a cord in-his 1. The figures stand on a black line which cuts off an exergue
left red.
