A 55.

FEET of vase. L. of sole, 2j in. ; Ht. of leg, 2 in.
From Yortan, as A I, etc.

The vase had a wide curved body. The feet
are a pair modelled in human form, and showing
ankle-bones and toes. Unpolished grey-brown
ware. (Fig. 16.)

[For a similar foot at Troy see .S'.-.V. 3286, and for a
complete vase with such feet of about the same period the
E. M. III. bird from Kumasa in Crete: Evans, Palace of
Minos, i, fig. 85.]

LONG-NECKED JAR. Ht. i\ in. From Yortan, as A 1, etc. Two handles are
broken away.

Globular body with round base, tall cylindrical neck with flat flanged lip :
four small flat loop handles sharply bent on shoulder. Black ware with remains
of polish.

LONG-NECKED JAR. Ht. 55 in. From Yortan with A 5, etc. Two handles restored.

As last, but body slightly flattened, and with flat base; the lip is turned
out and flanged. Grey clay.

LONG-NECKED JAR. Ht. 7J in. From Yortan, as A 1, etc. One handle Elate l|
broken away.

As last, but with handles set high on shoulder, which is ridged. In each space
between the handles is painted a white triple chevron reaching
from neck to base. Black polished ware, with a brown patch.

LONG-NECKED JAR. Ht. 4} in. From Yortan, as A 1, etc.

Shape and painted decoration as last, but in two adjoining
spaces between the handles is a small central boss on ridge of
shoulder. Fine polished black ware, but badly preserved.

Shape as A 56, but with a small central knob on shoulder in each space
between the handles. There is a white painted triple chevron drawn over each
handle, from neck to base. Polished black ware with grey discoloration.

LONG-NECKED JAR, with high loop handle. Ht. 7 in. From Yortan, as A 1, etc. Plate
One small handle is broken away.

Shape as A 57, but with a flat loop handle bent in a tall pointed arch across
the mouth. Incised decoration : close vertical stripes on body and square lattice
on neck. Highly polished black ware with brown patches.
