stem ; nos. 2 and 3 apparently from the bowls. All have the same decoration of a zigzag band
of three thin lines of orange-red colour with wide black edging on a white slip. Fine reddish
brown clay. (Fig. 44.)

FRAGMENTS, similar. L. if in. to 3 J in. From Tsangli. Three-colour ware, with
various linear designs : plain black and red bands round rims of cups (1-2); a handle of coarse
red ware with zig-zag (4, the colours perished), and a heavy handle with central knob painted
with black bands and red patches (5). No 2 is only partly covered with the slip, and the
polished brown clay appears as a fourth colour on the rim.

FRAGMENTS, similar. L. 4 in. to i~ in. From Mesiani. No. 1, from the base of a
bowl, is closely striped on the side with vertical black lines and one red ; no. 2, from a rim,
has two red between two black lines, the lower black band waved on its upper edge ; no. 3,

from a wide open dish, has a red line between black bands at an angle, of which the inside is
latticed. (Fig 40.)

FRAGMENT, similar. L. if in. From Tsani. Fine ware with thin red and black
bands on polished white slip.

FRAGMENTS, similar. L. z\ in., 2 in. From Zerelia. Thin horizontal bands, and
broader oblique bands with one edge waved. No. 1 has also part of a horizontal band of red
colour. No. 2, from a rim, has a fringe of triangles inside the lip. Yellowish clay with
polished surface. (Fig. 40.)

FRAGMENTS, similar. L. 2-J in., ijin. From Tsangli. Rough patterns of red and
black bands, parallel or crossing, on reddish clay ground.

FRAGMENTS, similar. L. if in., if in. From Drakhmani. Simple red and black
bands, no slip ; reddish brown clay, as before.
