BOWL, similar to last. Ht. 3 in., diam. 6i in. From Phylakopi, as A 346, etc. The
spout is restored.

Very pale greenish clay with surface wash of the same colour. Groups of
bars on lip, one band only on shoulder, none at foot. Under the base are
impressed two dots.

BOWL, similar to A 354. Ht. 3! in., diam. 5- in. From Phylakopi, as A 346, etc.
Handle restored.

The clay is reddish, and the
painted decoration is in red colour;
otherwise as before. Two bands on
shoulder, one at foot.

Light brown clay, no slip or
painted pattern. On the base are
impressed two dots, joined by a curve.

As preceding, but with raised foot, flat loop handle
set laterally, and no spout. Pale greenish clay. On the
lip are painted five tailed spiral figures. (Fig. 81.) Fig. 81 =.A.35s (detail).

handle is restored.

Hemispherical shape with slightly turned out lip and flat base. Rough pale

brown clay. At the lip is painted decoration in dull black colour: four groups

of six or seven short vertical strokes merged together at the top. Plain band
at base.

A 360. JUG, fragmentary. Present ht. 14! in. Excavated at Knossos, and presented by Plate V.

Sir Arthur Evans, 1906. Lower part and half the body wanting.

Tensile shape as A 339, etc., but with disproportionately small beak and
handle. The body was oval. Light brown clay, coarse and porous, with smooth
pale greenish surface. Painted decoration in dull brown colour firing to red.
The lower part, which is mostly broken away, was ringed with broad bands ;
round the neck is a band of linked spiral coils ; and on the curved body is an
elaborate frieze of flying birds with discs in the field : four discs and parts of two
birds are preserved. The bodies of the birds are formed of large discs, heads,
