Diziani's work, except when one takes into consideration bozzelti like The Virgin of the Rosary
ot The Rest on the Flight into Egypt in the Collection Fr. Nicolis, Belluno13, which are sketchy
in the execution and cannot be considered as finished pictures. Our Moses spurning the Pharaolis
Crown, on the contrary, has a high finish. is brilliant with color and evokes quite obviously
a Riccian influence (for instance siinilarities can be scen to the Scipio picture by Sebastiano
Ricci in Palazzo Marucelli, Florence and to his Old Testament scenes as Solomo Adoring the
Idols in Galleria Sabauda, Turin and The ExpuIsion of Hagar, in the same collection14).
Perhaps the group of pictures closest to ours — as far as the space composition and the size
is concemed — is that devoted to the story of Joseph. Three pictures of this series are kept
in the Collection Bovio in Feltre15. They are considerably larger (120x130 cm) but show
