(The Natwity of the Yirgin, Annunciation, Epiphany, The Beheading of John
the Baptist, Crucifixion). It is worth adding that in the iconography of the
Poponcy (priestly sects) brass crucifixes God Sabaoth is presented above the
Crucified. God’s figurę is rendered frontally, in bust, raising his hands in
blessing (ill. 6)32 or holding a sphere in his left hand and blessing with the
!l Palekh (?), the first half of the 19th century, board, shpongi, tempera, gilding, 48.5 x 40 cm,
