above-mentioned works show a similar tendency, presendng a naked female
body far from ideał. The persistendy used motif of bald female heads remains
in a striking contrast with images of femme fatale with beaudful, long hair
as an attribute abundant in the period. In many paintings and graphics of
Munch one may find a motif of a man ensnared, entangled in woman’s
locks of hair. Władysława Jaworska went so far as to suggest that Munch’s
Yampire could be a painterly interpretation of Lilith (with her destructive
