restored double crown, beak and both feet resting on a rectangular base
(ill. 9).17 After restoration it is of rather attracdve appearance. Another object
with a dark background is a sandstone statuette of the god Bes18 with a knife
in his right hand clasped against the cheek (ill. 10). Bes is modelled carelessly,
