changes in the shape of disc. Type la and II were still produced and also,
sporadically, type Ilia. The only change concerns the pins which during that
period were a little shorter with parallel edges and thus less durable. There
are signs of numerous repairs visible on the objects from that period. During
the New Kingdom period and Third Intermediate Period the disc shape was
changed distinctively. For the first time discs of type Ib, Illb and IIIc appeared.
Type II disc also emerged during that period. The pins had a tendency to
lengthen and become narrower.

The mirrors are dated mainly according to the place and context of
finding. If the provenance of the object is not known we rely on the stylistic
analysis based on typology or the analysis of the inscriptions. The same
analysis procedurę is applied to mirrors of known provenance. Application
of these elements allowed for a morę precise dating of the described materiał.
