Female figure, in a long robe. The left arm hangs by the side, with the hand
grasping the drapery. The right arm is raised to the breast, with hand holding a flower.
Pointed head-dress, or hood, and large ear-rings. A throat necklace is indicated by red
dots, and a double necklace hangs below. Red color over the dress, here and there, on
the hips, and around the hood, as a border. The feet are wanting.

441. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot i\ inches. Found in the ruins
of Idalium.

Female figure, playing on the lyre; similar in style to the preceding; with pointed
head-dress, or hood, long ear-rings, and necklace with long pendant; a bracelet on the
right wrist. The chiton is marked by a narrow ribbed surface; the himation is indicated
as of a heavier material, and in larger folds, which are rendered by a few simple lines,
without modelling. A portion of the head is broken off at the back; the left forearm
supports the lyre, of which the top is broken; the right hand holds the plectrum. The
figure is broken off diagonally above the knees.

442. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, iif inches. Found in the ruins of
Idalium.

Female figure, resembling the preceding, No. 441, with round ear-rings, and band of
rosettes in front of the head-dress, or hood. Necklace, lyre, and other details, like No.
441. Broken off below the knees.

443. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 71- inches. Found on the site west of
the temple (Golgoi).

Female figure; the forearms raised and broken off just below the elbows. An over-
garment falling from the back of the head, clown the shoulders and arms, passes under
the elbows and around in front of the body; portion below the waist wanting.

444. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 2! inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).

Male figure, with both arms broken near the elbow; on the left forearm a bird
was held, probably a dove, of which only a portion of the tail now remains. The chiton
