472. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot. Found in a field near Acheropite.
Male figure, with beard partially broken off, and represented as formed of parallel rows
of short curls, slightly rendered. The mustache and eyebrows are marked by raised sur-
faces. A wreath encircles the head, the back of which is wanting. The wreath consists of
a row of berry-shaped ornaments, covered with fine globules, as in granulated jewelry.
The hair is worked in two rows of curls projecting over the forehead. Part of the nose
is broken away, and the surface is much scarred and worn.
